We learned double facts in addition.
We learned ways to subtract 0, 1, and 2.
We made a rhyming turkey.
We did math centers.
This week we are learning to subtract from numbers up to 12.

Today we practiced doubles facts.
We learned near doubles facts.
We did weekend news.

Tomorrow is library day please bring back your books.
Tomorrow Mr. Milianta will be gone to a meeting and there will be a substitute teacher. The substitute teacher will not be changing the take-home books.

Today we did two papers in math both using take-away.
Today we had an eye screening.
We went to the librarian for lesson.
We used adjectives to describe fall.

We went to Mrs. Sandgren's class and she taught us a song.
We looked for missing parts of 9.
We practiced the letter "I".

Tomorrow is library day. Please bring back your books so you can check out another book.

Today we did rotation in the computer lab and the library.
Most of us watched the President's speech about education.
We learned how to do whole-part-part in math.
We did morning work.

Today:

Nedelka's Mom came and talked to us.
We played SPARKLE and had a spelling test.
We did the calendar.

It is a school EBL day on Monday. There is no school for students.

Today we:

went to the library.

learned to add in any order
went to computers.

Today we:
learned about "joining stories" to write addition sentences.
learned to write the letter v and know the sound of the letter.
talked about our word wall words for the week. These words usually go along with the spelling words to some extent. They are: of, can, to, a, and, the.

Also, I'm including a reading strategy for students to practice this week. Please practice this skill during your at home reading:


"Say the beginning sound and look at the picture."
Look at the first letter of an unknown word, say the sound for that letter and look at the picture to figure out the word. For example, if the word starts with a b and there is a picture of a bear on the page, help the students to say "b" and look at the picture to figure out the word is bear. This strategy helps beginning readers to be successful with picture books while also practicing the sounds.

Today is the first day of homework. Please read with your child for at least 20 minutes and return the reading slip and book tomorrow in the bag. Also, we started spelling this week. The words for the week are:
